4/27: Boston local meeting

The Socialist Party of Boston will meet on Sunday, 27 April, at noon in the Lucy Parsons Center. This will be right after the New England United antiwar conference at Tufts, and right before May Day, so there will be plenty to do. We will also have a chance to review our Iraq Moratorium antiwar standout, and decide whether or not to continue it in coming months. For more information, check out the preliminary agenda.

The Lucy Parsons Center is located at 549 Columbus Ave. in the South End, near the Mass Ave. T stop on the Orange Line, the Symphony T stop on the Green Line (E), and the #1 bus line. For more information, visit www.lucyparsons.org.

Minutes from our previous local meeting can be found here.

4/18 (Fri): Stand out against the wars, 7 pm, Copley Square, Boston

As the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan drag on without end, we must reassert our opposition to America's imperialist misadventures, and keep up the pressure to stop the war and bring the troops home now.

After more than five years of war at home and abroad, we cannot afford to let the issue fade into the background.

Join us this Friday, 18 April, for a standout against the wars starting at 7 pm in Copley Square.

Part of the Iraq Moratorium project, this local demonstration against the war complements large regional and national demonstrations, keeps the war in Iraq an issue and agitation against it alive.

4/12: Boston Socialist Kaffeeklatsch

The Socialist Party of Boston is sponsoring an informal get-together at 3 pm on Saturday, 12 April in Java Jo's cafe. We'll have a chance to get food and drinks, and chat about whatever catches our fancy -- from the upcoming concert and forum to the presidential campaign to music and films.

There's no agenda, but we will probably touch on upcoming events, including an antiwar action on Friday, 18 April, a fundraising party/concert in May, a regional antiwar organizing conference at Tufts on 25-26 April, and of course lots of May Day activities. We also have presidential and congressional campaigns well under way, and will give updates about recent developments and future prospects.

Java Jo's is located at 3710 Washington St., near the Forest Hills T station on the Orange Line and several bus lines.
